Security Officer – Full-time (Days/Nights/Rotations)
Location: ABP Barry Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour (plus competitive benefits) Hours:
- 3 days per week
- 3 nights per week
- 3 rest days
Essential Requirements
✔ Full UK Driving Licence (mandatory) ✔ Active SIA Licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervision, and CCTV PSS required) ✔ Willingness to undertake additional training (propsed by Security Account Manager)
Job Overview

- Protecting property, people, and assets by adhering to the site’s Assignment Instructions (AI’s) and any modifications.
- Ensuring service delivery meets or exceeds performance metrics to retain contracts and enhance customer trust.
- Continuous professional development through mandatory and voluntary training.
Key Responsibilities
Operations
- Uphold all company policies, legal, and regulatory requirements under UK law and industry guidance.
- Execute all tasks listed in the published AI’s, while proactively identifying and suggesting service improvements.
- Ensure compliance with Industry and Statutory Legislation (SIA licence must be worn at all times; CCTV PSS licence essential).
- Follow procedures systematically—avoid unnecessary challenges to authority.
- Manage health, safety, and environmental risks on site.

Training & Development
- Complete mandatory competency training and additional self-improvement courses directed by Management.
- Stay licence-current (renew at least 16 weeks before expiry).
- Use technology and professional updates to enhance job skills.
Security & Hazards
- Immediately report health and safety risks or suspicious activity to prevent loss/damage.
- Display professionalism when handling difficult situations or customers.
- Record detailed notebook entries post-incident (used for Incident Report submission).
- Adhere to scheduled check-ins as per AI’s and promptly escalate emergencies to call centers.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous Security Experience (preferred)
- Current SIA Licence (applicants must hold CCTV PSS licence and renew on time).
