Purpose of the Role
To assist with the smooth running of four residential buildings and to deal with all emergency situations when they occur. This includes providing visible security at building reception, being vigilant, controlling access/egress into buildings as well as restricted parts of the buildings. Also monitoring of CCTV, patrolling the buildings and controlling contractors and deliveries arriving at the building out of hours.
Key Responsibilities
- To work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
- To undertake regular patrols of the site as instructed by the Estates Management.
- To carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by the Estates Management.
- To comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the site.
- To comply with their individual responsibilities to ensure that the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order are complied with, in line with company policy and site procedures.
- To ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the site are complied with at all times.
- Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident Log.
- Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully, to requirements for contractor management and site H&S in line with the company policy and site procedures.
- Ensure that the site is a safe and pleasant environment.
- To assist with enquiries from the public if so required.
- To be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.

In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
- Experience in the provision of security services in a busy environment.
- In order to comply with the Security Industry Act 2001, officers must hold a valid SIA Security Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
- Ability to demonstrate good levels of customer service at all times.
- Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
- Honest and reliable work ethic.
- Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.
- Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
- Well presented.
- Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.

Desirable
- Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Basic knowledge of H&S legislation.
Working Hours
- 38 hours average
- Wk1 = Saturday to Friday 1800 – 2200
- Wk 2 = Sun 0900 to 1800, Mon to Tue 2200 – 0900, Fri 2200 to 0900
- Wk 3 = Saturday to Sunday 2200 – 0900, Wednesday to Thursday 2200 – 0900
Salary
- £15.23 per hour
