Mitie – Security Officer (Union Square Shopping Centre)

Pay: £13.83/hour

Hours: 42 per week (Average), 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, Days and Nights

Location: Union Square Shopping Centre

Requirement: SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential)

Role Overview

You'll be a key security presence on-site, acting as the first point of contact for customers and clients. The role involves regular patrolling, indoor and outdoor, monitoring for suspicious activity, and responding professionally to incidents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols, including outdoors in all weather.
  • Provide a welcoming, professional presence for customers and clients.
  • Maintain strong awareness of the site and surrounding area.
  • Identify and respond to suspicious behaviour or criminal activity.
  • Maintain control of incidents until emergency services arrive.
  • Record and escalate incidents to the Security Operations Manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • SIA Door Supervisor Licence (mandatory)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Team player with a proactive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Able to work independently and adapt to business needs
  • Full 5‑year checkable work history
