Retail Security Officer – M&S

About the Role
Location: Handforth Salary: £13.58 per hour Hours: Guaranteed 40+ per week
Join M&S as a Security Officer and play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and secure environment for both customers and colleagues.

In a fast-paced retail environment, you’ll need to be alert, responsive, and ready to act.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Shape a welcoming store environment
- Greet customers as they begin shopping
- Provide professional support to both customers and colleagues
Safeguarding the Store
- Prevent loss and respond to incidents
- Identify risks and facilitate safe working practices
- Protect M&S’s people, property, and products
Digital Competence
- Use on-site technology, including mobile reporting systems
- Operate body-worn cameras for incident logging

Assisting in Emergency Scenarios

Requirements
- Previous security experience (preferred)
- Valid SIA licence (desirable but not essential)
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills
- Ability to be calm, confident, and professional
- Proactive & decisive—able to act swiftly
- A genuine passion for service and safety
Important Note
- Candidates must be able to provide a 5-year checkable UK work history.
