Founded in 1859, The Corps of Commissionaires Management Limited, now Corps Security, was a business initially built to provide employment for ex-servicemen on return from the Crimean War.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to provide a secure and safe environment for all staff & visitors on site. This will be achieved by:

  • Applying thorough access control procedures
  • Carrying out site inductions
  • Conducting planned & ad-hoc site patrols
  • Performing other duties as determined by the Assignment Instructions
  • Following emergency escalation/communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues, and emergency services in the event of an emergency.

The role operates over 60 hours per week from Monday to Friday with shifts between 08:00 - 20:00.

What you will need

  • Exceptional communication skills and strong customer focus
  • A valid SIA Front-Line License (essential)
  • A valid SIA CCTV License (desirable)
  • Confidence in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask, and manage pressure efficiently
  • Excellent IT skills including proficiency in Microsoft Software Packages (e.g., Excel)
  • Eligibility to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards

What you will be doing

  • Maintain overall surveillance of the site by conducting regular patrols and recording them as per Corps and Customer requirements

  • Ensure visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel are briefed, signed in and out of the site as required

  • Record entry and exit of deliveries and process documentation accordingly

  • Adhere to patrol and quality standards as mandated

  • Activate and deactivate primary and secondary alarm systems for out-of-hours security

  • Comply with site waste management procedures

  • Complete required documentation, including:

    • Daily occurrence logs
    • Shift handover reports
    • Incident/accident records
    • Any site-specific reports
  • Maintain familiarity with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents

  • Advise Corps Duty Manager and client personnel on updates or improvements

  • Update your personal training records on the Corps Colleague Portal to ensure both competence and legislative compliance, particularly for first aid and fire marshal training

  • Consistently apply your SIA skills professionally, ensuring your SIA license is always visibly displayed

  • Perform ad-hoc duties as instructed
