Role Overview
As a Security Officer (2-Shift) at Huntsman, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant environment across our Duxford site. Working within a structured shift rotation, you will oversee day-to-day security operations, support emergency response activities, and act as a visible and trusted presence across the campus.
This is a hands-on role where professionalism, sound judgement, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic situations are essential. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, contractors, and visitors to uphold the highest standards of safety and security.

Role Responsibilities
As a Security Officer you will be responsible for:
- Manage and control site access for employees, visitors, and contractors, ensuring compliance with security procedures
- Conduct regular site patrols, perimeter checks, and walk rounds to maintain a strong security presence
- Monitor and operate CCTV, access control, and communication systems to ensure effective site surveillance
- Carry out spot checks to validate identification, contractor activity, and adherence to site rules
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, following established procedures
- Support coordination of emergency services and contribute to incident management on site
- Assist in the planning and execution of emergency drills and preparedness programmes
- Manage visitor bookings and support inductions for contractors and visitors
- Deliver accurate reporting and documentation related to security and safety activities
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement in site security and emergency readiness

Experience and Competencies
We are looking for experienced candidates with:
- Previous experience in security, emergency services, police, or a similar operational environment
- Proven ability to respond to incidents and follow structured emergency procedures
- Experience working independently in a responsible and trusted role
- Familiarity with site-based operations in industrial or high-safety environments is advantageous
What We Are Looking For
- Valid SIA Licence (Security Guarding) – preferrable
- First Aid at Work certification – preferrable
- Strong decision-making skills, particularly in high-pressure or emergency situations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage workload within a shift environment
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail
- Comfortable operating security systems such as CCTV, access control tools, and radios
- Strong organisational skills, particularly in managing visitor and contractor processes
- Basic IT literacy, including familiarity with business systems (e.g. SharePoint, Microsoft Teams)
- Additional industry-recognised qualifications are considered an advantage

Working Pattern
- 2-shift rotation (Monday to Friday)
- Flexibility to support alternative shifts where required
- Active role involving patrols, emergency response, and outdoor work
