Security Officer
Retail Security Officer – M&S
Location: M&S Canterbury – 4 St Georges Street, Canterbury, CT1 2SR
Salary: £14.90 per hour Hours: Guaranteed 40+ per week

What You’ll Do
You’ll be a visible and approachable presence in our fast-paced retail environment:

Support customers & colleagues
- Greet customers as they enter, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere while addressing concerns professionally.
- Assist both store teams and shoppers during their visit.

Protect store assets & safety
- Prevent loss, respond to incidents, and identify potential risks.
- Work with store teams to uphold safety standards and emergency procedures.

Leverage digital tools
- Use technology (e.g. mobile reporting systems, body-worn cameras) for incident tracking and secure reporting.

Maintain composure under pressure
- Handle challenging situations with confidence and alignment to M&S’s values.

Requirements
- Preferences: Security or customer service experience
- Certification: Benefits from (or are willing to obtain) an SIA licence—essential after a qualifying period

- Proactive thinking with quick decision-making
- A passion for customer service and safety
