Weāre Hiring: Security Officer
š Location: Bristol
š· Pay: Ā£13.61 per hour
ā±ļø Hours: Average 42 hours per week
šļø Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off ā Days & Nights (07:00 start)
š Grade: Site Based

Purpose:
To provide a security service at the working location in line with the Assignment Instructions and customer requirements in order to protect the customerās employees, property, and other assets.
The Security Officer will deliver the highest levels of customer service while consistently demonstrating Securitasā core values of Integrity, Vigilance, and Helpfulness. The Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment, responding to incidents, and supporting the day-to-day security operation. The Security Officer must have acquired the full SIA Licence before being able to start work on operational shifts.

Job Description
Responsibilities
Protection of Property & Premises
- Prevent and deter unauthorised access to site
- Monitor fire alarms, intruder alarms, and CCTV
- Conduct internal and external patrols
- Control traffic and enforce parking restrictions
- Carry out routine security equipment checks
- Manage keys and locking/unlocking duties
- Maintain logbooks and site records
- Issue visitor and contractor passes
- Handle lost property correctly
- Report incidents, breaches, and suspicious activity promptly
Health & Safety
- Support staff, visitors, and contractors while safeguarding the premises
- Follow and enforce health & safety procedures at all times
- Record and report hazards, faults, and unsafe practices
- Ensure emergency routes and walkways remain clear
- Report First Aid usage and shortages
- Contact the Securitas Operations Centre (SOC) during emergencies
- Investigate fire alarm activations
- Promote a safe, secure, and professional environment at all times

Qualifications
What weāre looking for:
Weāre looking for someone who sees a different worldāsomeone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, youāll have:
Essential
- Valid SIA Licence
- Right to work in the UK
- Aged 18 or over
- 5-year checkable employment history (or supporting documentation)
- No current criminal convictions
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Strong customer focus
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Punctual, professional, and reliable
- Flexible to work days, nights, and weekends
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Security Officer
- First Aid qualification
- Customer-facing experience
- Knowledge of access control, site procedures, and incident reporting
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport (not essential)
