# Security Officer – Permanent (4 on, 4 off) Vacancy Ref: 4744 Location: Wick, Scotland Salary: £13.89 per hour Closing Date: 10 July 2026
About the Role
Join Wilson James as a Security Officer and help protect our premises, assets, and communities while contributing to a supportive teams. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about security, with the chance to develop their skills further through training and career progression.
Key Responsibilities include:
✅ Welcoming and assisting staff/visitors while maintaining a safe, professional environment ✅ Conducting regular patrols and monitoring premises to prevent breaches, theft, or vandalism ✅ Operating CCTV systems, managing access control, and following security protocols ✅ Responding to alarms, incidents, or emergencies with prompt action and professionalism ✅ Completing detailed incident and activity reports as required ✅ Assisting in evacuations or providing basic first aid support where needed ✅ Adapting across multiple client sites (no two shifts are the same!) ✅ Calm and confident responses to incidents, alongside strong teamwork

About You
We’re looking for dedicated security professionals with:
🔹 Current DS (Door Supervision) SIA licence (mandatory) 🔹 Proven experience in a security or related role 🔹 Strong observational skills and alertness to potential security risks 🔹 Excellent communication—manageable with diverse groups (staff, visitors, police) 🔹 Resilience under pressure—able to make quick decisions during incidents 🔹 Flexibility—willing to work rotating shifts (including nights, weekends, and public holidays)
