Security Operations Center Analyst
SOC Analyst
£50,000–£54,000 per annum | Hybrid Role | 2 days per week in either Glasgow or Edinburgh
We are seeking an ambitious SOC Analyst to join a market-leading organisation within the energy sector, fulfilling a critical role in the transformation of their IT Security Team. This well-established company owns and manages critical national infrastructure, driving innovation through a forward-funded futureproofing program.
About the Role
This excusively critical role ensures the IT and OT networks are secure, managed, and maintained in accordance with policies, legal, and regulatory requirements. As the Security Subject Matter Expert in your focal area, you will act as the primary Security Incident response agent when supporting incident remediation.
Core Responsibilities
- Operate as the go-to technical and non-technical security adviser, lending support to the Security Team and broader organisation.
- Uphold network security, maintaining compliance with IT and operational technology (IOT) frameworks.
- Act as a proactive subject matter expert, driving best practices across security operations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on incident response, including escalation and involvement with relevant reviews.

Key Requirements
Your background should include:
- Expertise in Cloud Security
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Sentinel & Defender.
- Mindful knowledge and hands-on application of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
- Security Operations & Tools Proficiency
- Firewalls, VPN Gateways, SIEM (Security Information & Event Management), SOAR, EDR (Endpoint Detection & Response), MDR (Managed Detection & Response), UEBA (User and Entity Behaviour Analytics), Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Cybersecurity Framework Compliance
- A robust understanding and hands-on application of frameworks such as:
- NCSC Security Principles
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework
- ISO 27001 (Information Security Management)
- ISO/IEC 27005 (Risk Management)
- IEC 62443 (Industrial Automation & Control Systems Security)
- A robust understanding and hands-on application of frameworks such as:
- (Bonus) Industry Control Systems Knowledge
- Experience with Industrial Control Systems (ICS) or SCADA networks is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Clearance & Compliance
- Must possess UK Right-to-Work status and have lived in the UK for at least five years.
- Mandatory Security Clearance Availability.

What We Offer
- Salary & Structure
- Competitive remuneration between £50,000–£54,000/year.
- Working Days & Conditions
- Structured hours from 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with a Change in 5 rotation for on-call obligations (compensated).
