SOC Analyst

Location: Cheltenham (Fully On-site | 24/7 Shift Pattern)
Salary: Up to £42,000 + 25% Shift Premium + Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity for an early-career cybersecurity professional to join a leading global cyber security consultancy within a highly regulated Security Operations Centre (SOC) environment.

As part of a major growth programme, you'll work alongside experienced security professionals supporting mission-critical systems while gaining exposure to a wide range of enterprise security technologies. This role is ideal for someone with a solid cybersecurity foundation who is looking to build a long-term career in Security Operations.

The Role

As a SOC Analyst, you'll play a key role in monitoring, investigating and responding to security incidents in a fast-paced operational environment.

  • Monitoring, triaging and analysing security alerts
  • Investigating potential security incidents and supporting incident response activities
  • Escalating confirmed threats where appropriate
  • Producing security reports, documentation and incident records
  • Supporting SIEM tuning and optimisation
  • Maintaining awareness of emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques
  • Working collaboratively within a busy SOC to help protect critical systems

What We're Looking For

  • Ideally 1+ year's commercial experience within cybersecurity or a SOC environment
  • Experience monitoring, analysing and responding to security alerts
  • Understanding of SOC operations and incident response principles
  • Good knowledge of networking, operating systems and core security concepts
  • Awareness of common cyber threats, attack vectors and malware types
  • Exposure to one or more SIEM or security monitoring platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Microsoft Defender, IBM QRadar or Elastic
  • Ability to remain calm and perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Genuine passion for cybersecurity with a desire to continually learn and develop

  • Applicants must hold Sole British National status
  • Candidates must be eligible for un-caveated Security Check (SC) clearance
  • Candidates must be willing to work fully on-site in Cheltenham on a 24/7 shift rota
