Security Operations Manager / Lead

Location: Accrington | Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days onsite per week)

A fantastic opportunity for either a Security Operations Manager or a talented SOC Lead ready to take the next step into management. This role will lead and strengthen a growing internal Security Operations Centre (SOC), driving robust monitoring, threat detection and incident response capabilities across enterprise, cloud, retail and operational technology environments.

Working within a complex, global technology landscape, you will play a key role in protecting critical business operations while helping to shape the future direction of security operations. You'll have the opportunity to lead a team, improve security capabilities and influence security strategy across the wider organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and develop the SOC team, fostering a proactive security culture.
  • Oversee security monitoring and threat detection across enterprise, cloud and operational technology environments.
  • Ensure security incidents are effectively managed, escalated and resolved.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide expertise during security events.
  • Enhance detection capabilities, tooling and security monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with vulnerability management, incident response and GRC teams.
  • Develop and improve SOC playbooks, reporting and operational metrics.
  • Support regulatory and compliance requirements while reducing organisational risk.

Requirements

  • Experience in a Security Operations Manager, SOC Lead, Senior SOC Analyst or similar security operations role.
  • Strong technical knowledge of threat detection, monitoring and incident response.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or leading security professionals.
  • Understanding of enterprise, cloud and operational technology security.
  • Experience with SOAR platforms and security automation.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Passion for building and improving security operations capabilities.

Desirable Experience

  • CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional).
  • CISM (Certified Information Security Manager).
  • GCIA, GCIH, GSEC or other relevant SANS certifications.
  • Cloud security certifications such as CCSP, AWS Security Specialty or Azure Security Engineer.
