About the Role
Here at Bromford Flagship Livewest we're looking for an experienced Security Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of security operations, ensuring our services, systems, data, and colleagues remain protected from evolving cyber threats.
This is a pivotal leadership role where you'll oversee security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, and the effective performance of security technologies and third-party security partners. You'll lead a team of Cyber Security Engineers while driving continuous improvement across our security operations capability.
Location: Negotiable - Norwich, Tewkesbury, Exeter
Hours: Full Time - 37 hpw with agile working
Contract: Permanent
What You'll Be Doing
As Security Operations Manager, you will:
- Lead and develop a team of Cyber Security Engineers.
- Manage the organisation's security operations function, ensuring effective monitoring, detection, investigation, and response to security threats.
- Own the end-to-end management of security incidents, coordinating technical, business, and supplier stakeholders during response and recovery activities.
- Oversee vulnerability management processes, ensuring risks are identified, prioritised, and remediated appropriately.
- Manage relationships with external SOC and MDR providers to maximise security effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain security playbooks, operational procedures, metrics, and reporting.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, IT Operations, and Security Assurance teams to embed security best practices into everyday operations.
- Support risk management, compliance, policy development, and security maturity initiatives.
- Monitor the evolving threat landscape and implement improvements to strengthen organisational resilience.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across technology teams.

What We're Looking For
Essential Experience
- Proven experience managing a Security Operations function and/or cyber security team.
- Strong hands-on experience investigating and managing security incidents.
- Demonstrable experience with threat hunting, vulnerability management, and security monitoring.
- Experience developing security playbooks, procedures, and operational processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
- Experience working with third-party SOC/MDR providers.
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience across the Microsoft Security ecosystem, including:
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Defender
- Microsoft Sentinel
You will have the technical credibility to support your team, guide investigations, and drive improvements across security operations.
Qualifications
- CISSP or an equivalent recognised cyber security qualification.
