Job Role
Overview
Join the Dedicated Security Relief Officer team in Berkshire, where your care and responsiveness define outstanding service delivery.
Terms & Availability
✓ Guaranteed 120 hours per month (if shift availability is maintained; refusal of booked hours results in no pay). ✓ Flexible schedule requirement:
- Travel within a 30-mile radius permitted.
- Willingness to work days/evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Shifts: 8–12 hours (rotating depending on site needs).
- Weekly availability: Commitment of 5 days out of 7 (1 guaranteed weekend off every 5 weeks).
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Incident logging & response: Ensure all incidents are logged and directed effectively through resolution.
- Communication: Clearly reports security-related business issues to the Operations Manager or relevant teams.
- Site safety & operational compliance:
- Resume standards for: access/egress control, visitor regulation, and visual presentation.
- Enforce safety protocols relating to dresscode, compliance, and general presentational excellence.
- Reporting & management liaison:
- Document timely, meaningful reports on security activities and present to Mitie’s Security Management Team.
- Equipment & compliance obedience:
- Full understanding of site equipment operations (based on training instructions and signed Assignment Instructions).
- Ensure updated procedures are followed; raise concerns to Management regarding any non-compliance.

Contractual adherence & assurance:
- Fulfill all contractual obligations legally enforced on the site.
- Report any concerns/violations to the Manager.

Reactive interface: Handle daily site inquiries arise from operations, signing incidents off accurately and connecting with Management for further action. Manage site security procedures (opening, closing, locking down, accident/health & safety incident reporting).

General execution at Management’s discretion.

Awareness & proficiency requirements:
- Effective Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) tracking.
- Keen analytical skills to prioritise information and maintain clear communication.
- Adherence to Sheet-confirmed opening, closing, and lock-down procedure.
Person Specification
**Required Qualifications:
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) license in place.
- British passport to qualify for SC (Security Check) clearance.
- Passes a full 5-year criminal record check.
- Evidence of excellent security expertise.

Health, Safety, and Security Roles
Establishing Accountability
Group Policies and Procedures Compliance
- Follow all Mitite Group and company policies relating to health, safety, and security.
Incident & Workplace Reporting
- Report deficiencies in systems, inadequate equipment, or procedurally risks to Health and Safety.
- Properly maintain personal Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Information Security
- Maintain compliance with Mitie’s and client-based information security procedures.
- Identify and report suspected security risks/incidents promptly to your manager.
