Job objectives and responsibilities

  • To protect the assets of the client by following recognised best practice techniques.
  • To effectively organise and manage all security team workloads as required without compromising quality of service provision by liaising with the in-house security team.
  • To respond to emergencies and assist with the evacuation and searching of the buildings by following all requirements of the site Emergency Response procedures.

Main duties

  • You will be responsible for managing the security team in line with the clients in-House team's operational requirements.
  • Advertising and conduct all vacancies through PageUp ensuring the SC clearance process is followed.
  • Ensure that all staff site base training matrix is up to date.
  • Liaise with the L & D team to arrange the necessary courses.
  • Deliver monthly tool box talks.
  • Ensure that WP+ is fully up to date, all shifts are covered 3 months in advance, site roster to be updated and sent to operations managers and clients, coverage to be monitored.
  • Complete all admin tasks such as forward rostering and dealing with SIA license renewals, uniform, return to work interviews, etc.
  • Updating and competence checks of AI's, RA's and SOP's.
  • Completing investigations and disciplinaries as and where required.
  • Ensure adequate handover is completed with outgoing and oncoming team members at correct times.
  • Ensure Security Officers book on duty at the correct time and through InTouch.
  • Ensure all Security Officers are correctly dressed and presentable to the required standard to take up duty.
  • Once book on is complete the DOR (daily occurrence record) should be updated with the names of all duty.

The ability to use a range of communication methods to keep the team informed and motivated.

  • Manage the polite and effective processing of all telephone / email enquiries received into the department.
  • To ensure that at all times security team members are deployed effectively to post; operate all the required systems and conducting all required functions in line with the clients requirements.
  • To ensure the seamless delivery of exceptional service standards to internal/external customers.
  • Ensure that security team members are correctly dressed at all times; that tasks are correctly allocated and performed and that incidents are effectively handled.
  • To continuously demand the highest standards of service delivery from security team members by providing full briefings and guidance.
  • Monitor attendance and time-keeping records and take any required remedial action where necessary.
  • Investigate and report to the Operations Manager on disciplinary and grievance matters whilst providing leadership and support to sustain good team morale.
  • Be committed to Health & Safety and ensure that you are familiar with all Health & Safety policies and procedures. Police and encourage observance with all site security & safety policies, in particular ensuring that the access control, key control, and Health & Safety policies are observed and enforced.
  • Perform investigations with regard to security related issues and complete the appropriate incident reports.
  • Carry out any other reasonable request from management or client.

Qualifications

  • Valid SIA Licence
  • CCTV licence would be an advantage
  • Must have or be able to complete and be awarded SC level clearance within three months

Experience

Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in security supervisory / management and operational delivery within corporate security sector.
  • Strong background in physical security.
  • Comprehensive knowledge in utilising security technologies, including access control systems, CCTV, and alarms.

  • Professional appearance and presentation.
  • Great communicator – verbal and written.
  • Competent in literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
  • Methodical and well organised.
  • “Can do” approach.
  • Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the business.

Health and Safety responsibilities

  • Enforce company policies and procedures at all times.
  • Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment.
  • Ensure use of all work equipment and personal PPE is properly utilised and in accordance with training received.
  • Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system.
