The working days & hours for this role are: Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4 pm
Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 gross per annum

The Role
The Security Supervisor is responsible for leading the security shifts across GBS campus, to ensure the safety, security, wellbeing of staff, students and visitors. This role combines operational leadership with hands-on security duties, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, internal policies, and industry best practice. The postholder will also act as the first point of escalation for incidents, coordinate emergency responses, and maintain a welcoming yet secure campus environment.
What The Role Involves
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and supervise a team of Security Officers, ensuring adherence to schedules, quality standards, and operational procedures.
- Oversee the daily deployment and provide supervision of security personnel across the campus, ensuring all shifts are adequately staffed.
- Assist Facilities Manager in all duties related to buildings, assets, staff, students, visitors security.
- Monitor and operate security systems including CCTV (limited), Access Control, Fire and intruder alarms; ensure prompt response to activations, faults, and incidents.
- Ensure completeness of scheduled security patrols and inspections, addressing hazards and breaches immediately.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of incident reports, patrol logs, and compliance documentation.
- Data collection and preparation of the KPI Reports.
- Maintain and if required update security Standard Operating Procedures and ensure all staff adhere to them.
- Oversee and audit key control systems, ensuring traceability and security.

About You
- Proven supervisory experience in a security or facilities management role.
- Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in operating and monitoring security systems.
- Understanding of safeguarding, Health & Safety, relevant legislation and emergency protocols.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and lead in crisis situations.
- SIA door supervisor licence.
Desirable
- SIA CCTV licence.
- BSIA or Syl qualification.
- Experience in higher education or multi-site environments.
- Knowledge of risk management and incident investigation best practice.
