Buildings Relief Officer

Hours: Full time – varied shifts 42hrs per week
Pay: £15.95 per hour

Are you a vigilant and dedicated professional looking for a step up in your Security career?
Working across the Kings X Estate, a large, vibrant hub with a cluster of offices, public spaces, entertainment and shops, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the area. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a great team and working with the local community and tourists that visit the area. The Buildings Relief Officer plays a vital role in maintaining public safety, security and smooth operation of the estate. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong security awareness and excellent customer service skills. Officers are responsible for external patrols, incident response, access control, and supporting visitors across the estate, working in all weather conditions both independently and as part of a wider security team. The highest level of professional standards and consistent approach to ensuring a positive customer experience.
About The Role
As a Buildings Relief Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Provide a visible, professional presence and deliver excellent customer service during all interactions.
- Offer guidance and directions to visitors, ensuring smooth access to buildings and estate facilities.
- Collaborate with other security personnel and estate staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Report hazards, incidents, suspicious activity, or notable interactions to the Control Room for appropriate logging and follow-up.
- Maintain accurate entry logs or digital records for all arrivals and departures.
- Liaise with loading dock coordinators, facilities staff, and tenant representatives to manage site activity.
- Respond to loading bay alarms, hazards, or unauthorised access events.
- Monitor CCTV, access control, lift alarms, and life safety systems within the Fire Control Centre.
- Assist with visitor and contractor check-in procedures using access control or booking systems.
- Liaise with building staff, contractors, and tenants in a professional and helpful manner.
- Report facilities or maintenance issues through the building management system.
- Ensure secure handover and logging of keys, radios, and access credentials at start and end of shift.
- Respond promptly to alarm activations and escalate appropriately according to site protocols.

- Previous security experience (beneficial).
- Knowledge of the estate layout and procedures/facilities (beneficial).
- Ability to follow instructions and respond effectively under pressure.
- SIA – DS & CCTV.
