Security Systems Design Consultant
Consultive Solutions Limited are seeking a motivated and experienced Security Systems Design Consultant with a strong background in designing integrated security and communications systems. You will support clients across diverse projects in both routine and complex security environments, delivering practical, compliant, and effective solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional who enjoys combining technical expertise with client engagement and project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Conduct site surveys and pre-design assessments
- Review and interpret Threat and Risk Assessments
- Develop detailed designs for physical and electronic security systems, including communications infrastructure
- Produce:
- System specifications
- Schematics
- Scope documents
- Design reports
- Define system functionality and cause-and-effect requirements based on operational needs
- Ensure designs comply with relevant legislation, industry standards, and best practice guidance
- Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal specialists to support successful project delivery
- Provide technical expertise during project planning, procurement, and implementation phases

About You
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in the design of integrated security systems
- Strong technical knowledge of:
- CCTV Systems
- Access Control Systems
- Intruder Alarm Systems
- Intercom Systems
- Public Address (PA) Systems
- Security Management Platforms
- Experience interpreting Threat and Risk Assessments
- Sound understanding of:
- Operational security principles
- Physical protective security measures
- Knowledge of relevant:
- Legislation
- Standards
- Industry best practice
- Excellent:
- Communication skills
- Report-writing skills
- Stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel when required

- Experience working within regulated or high-risk sectors, such as:
- Utilities
- Transport
- Manufacturing
- Government
- Critical national infrastructure
- Knowledge of:
- IT networks
- Cyber security principles
- BS7858 Security Screening clearance
- Current Security Check (SC) clearance
