Role Summary
This is a full-time, on-site role as a Security Systems Estimator located in Harlow. The successful candidate will be responsible for estimating the cost of security system projects, creating detailed project proposals, and identifying potential project risks. The Security Systems Estimator will be responsible for conducting site surveys, preparing take-offs, creating project cost breakdowns, and maintaining accurate project estimates. In addition to working closely with cross-functional teams to determine project requirements, the Security Systems Estimator will liaise with clients and suppliers throughout the duration of projects. Submitting completed proposals ensuring competitive pricing and agreed profit margins.
Improve Gamma’s market position and achieve financial growth. Builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates, and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Job Responsibilities
- The primary role of the Estimator is to review all prices, all tenders’ requests and quotes sent to Gamma Systems for installation projects. This involves sourcing the best pricing and ensuring we are submitting proposals on time and to the British Standards. They must then plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with the company.
- They must develop a rapport with new clients and provide support that will continually improve the relationship.
- They are also required to grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients. This requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions/services the company can provide, and of the company’s competitors.
- Research and build relationships with new clients.
- Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
- Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.

Knowledge/Experience Required
- Networking, Persuasion, Research, Writing, Closing Skills, Identification of Customer Needs and Challenges, Market Knowledge, Professionalism, CRM, and Microsoft Office.
- Detailed knowledge of the principles of NACOSS, BAFE SP203/BS5839 and British Standards.
- Relevant qualifications FIA/NSI/LPCB/C&G although experience is more relevant to this post.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in security systems estimating or closely related field preferred.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with competence in interpreting construction plans, project specifications, and schedule information.
- Experience with estimating software and reporting tools, as well as Microsoft Office.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills in managing multiple projects.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate clearly with staff, subcontractors, suppliers and customers.
- Understanding of security systems and security system components.
- Able to work openly and co-operatively with others.
- Self-motivation and ability to organise own time effectively.
- Good presentational skills; able to present complex ideas at the appropriate level to both technical and non-technical audiences.

General
- Possess a clear record with zero criminal convictions of any kind and meet with the requirements to pass a CRB / DBS check and the full screening process required in the security industry.

Salary
- Dependent on experience – 40 – 45k DOE plus commission scheme

28 days holiday (Including bank holidays)
