A bit about the role The Security Test Co-ordinator plays a key role within the Enterprise Security Testing function, ensuring that all security testing activities are efficiently planned, resourced, executed, and completed to a high standard. The role is responsible for coordinating internal and third-party security testing resources, managing test plans, ensuring prerequisites are met, and making sure testing aligns with internal processes and governance requirements. The co-ordinator ensures that testing outcomes flow smoothly through triage, remediation, retesting, and closure. What you'll be doing Security Test Planning & Coordination Manage the end-to-end planning of security tests, ensuring clarity of scope, objectives, timelines, and required resources Assign appropriate internal or external testers based on skills, capacity, and test requirements Maintain the testing schedule and proactively identify risks, dependencies, or conflicts. Stakeholder Engagement & Process Management Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure test plans are fully understood and properly scoped. Guide teams through scoping discussions to ensure accurate and actionable test requirements. Communicate testing timelines, prerequisites, and expected responsibilities across teams. Operational & Resource Management Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of internal and third-party testers in line with enterprise processes. Ensure all pre-requisites (access, environments, test accounts, approvals, prerequisites) are in place for tests to start on time. Provide occasional onsite supervision when third-party testers or activities require physical oversight. Lifecycle Management of Test Results Ensure security testing findings progress through the full lifecycle: triage, remediation assignment, retesting, and closure Track remediation progress with stakeholders and ensure SLAs and internal policies are met Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the lifecycle. Governance, Documentation & Continuous Improvement Maintain clear documentation of processes, decisions, and test artefacts. Support improvements to security testing processes, workflows, and governance Ensure work aligns with enterprise security standards, policies, and compliance requirements What experience we're looking for Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent testing activities. Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement abilities, including facilitating scoping conversations and resolving blockers. Experience coordinating technical teams, suppliers, or testing activities (security testing experience is highly advantageous). Ability to understand problems, work collaboratively to solve them, and clearly document outcomes. Familiarity with security testing processes (e.g., penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, red/blue team activities) is beneficial. Ability to manage suppliers and work within structured enterprise processes. Competent in tracking actions, dependencies, risks, and timelines across multiple workstreams. Requirement to report security testing updates and overviews to executive and c-suite Skills that would be beneficial (but not essential) Understanding of common security testing methodologies (e.g., OWASP, NIST). Experience working in large enterprises or regulated environments. Exposure to security tooling (e.g., vulnerability management platforms, test management systems). Supplier or vendor management experience. Security-related certifications or project/coordination certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile). Relevant security or technology experience through industry roles, training, or hands-on practice
