Security Vetting Officer
Arcadis is the world's leading company delivering sustainable design, engineering, and consultancy solutions for natural and built assets.
We are more than 34,000 people, in over 30 countries, dedicated to improving quality of life. Everyone has an important role to play. With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.
Role Description
Due to increasing business need, Security is expanding at Arcadis, and we are increasing our vetting team to 6. Your focus will be on National Security Vetting and aftercare as well as the Baseline Personnel Security Standard to ensure we have the right resources, with the right level of clearance in the business. Our portfolio is diverse and you’ll be supporting key decision makers in every sector of the business across a wide range of projects. Your expertise in vetting will ensure we have the right resources cleared to the right level.
As a truly global company, not every resource is the right fit for every project. As an experienced vetting officer, your judgement will be vital in flagging complex cases and potential risk. You will enjoy the support of highly experienced and professional Security Managers who have a proven track record with casework and UK Security Vetting (UKSV) and are trusted by the Board and senior Directors to make tough decisions that comply with UK legislation, GovS 007 and client requirements.
You will be a skilled communicator, dealing with colleagues at all levels within the business, new joiners and client vetting teams. You will use the Arcadis vetting database, the UKSV Portal and a range of applications, including Yoti, Egress, HEDD, third-party screening solutions, and the Microsoft Office suite. You will be confident working in a hybrid pattern between home and Arcadis office while enjoying support as a valued member of the Security team, with a keen focus on personal and professional development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
