The Role
The Sedation Trained Nurse will support patients before, during and after sedation procedures at our Truly Hull clinic, working closely with the clinical team to ensure safe, calm and efficient care while maintaining high standards of compliance, documentation and patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside assistance during sedation, surgical and dental procedures.
- Support patient preparation before sedation treatment, ensuring comfort, safety and reassurance.
- Assist with patient monitoring during sedation procedures, in line with clinical protocols and professional standards.
- Support post-operative patient care and recovery following sedation treatment.
- Maintain strict infection-prevention protocols, aseptic technique and clinical safety standards.
- Ensure sedation-related documentation and clinical records are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, equipment and materials for sedation procedures.
- Ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilised and prepared.
- Support the clinical team with efficient surgery turnaround between patients.
- Escalate concerns promptly and support the clinical team in maintaining a safe patient environment.
- Collaborate with the wider team to deliver an excellent patient experience.

What We're Looking For
- GDC registration is essential.
- Sedation training is essential.
- Candidates must have completed or supported at least 20 previous sedation cases.
- SAAD course completion is highly desirable.
- Dental Nurse qualification: NEBDN UK or equivalent.
- Strong hands-on experience supporting sedation procedures in a dental or clinical setting.
- Experience supporting surgical, implant or advanced dental treatments is desirable.
- Strong infection control and surgery preparation skills.
- Familiarity with dental software; Dentally experience is preferred, but training is available.
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset.
- Calm under pressure, organised, reliable and clinically confident.
- Right to work in the UK.

Important Details Before Applying
This role is based onsite at Truly Hull: Unit 8 M Park Kingston, Holderness Road, Hull, HU9 2AA.
- The clinic is expected to open in early September 2026.
- Candidates must be flexible to work on a shift/rota basis.
- The clinic will operate Monday to Sunday, between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
- We are ideally looking for candidates who can start before the opening date to support training, onboarding and clinical setup.
- GDC registration, sedation training and previous sedation case experience are essential.
- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
