Description of the role & responsibilities of the Segment Solution and Technology Lead

The Segment Solution and Technology Lead is a role, with a specific intent to focus on complex digital building applications in the Healthcare sector. The role functionally reports into the Building Segment Solutions Director as part of the solutions specialist’s team with the mandate to focus on all opportunities involving complex IT/OT architectures across the Healthcare Segment.

The role plays a critical role in advancing digital transformation across healthcare facilities by shaping solution architectures, driving innovation with the Line of Business (LoB), and supporting strategic customer engagements. This role blends technical depth, account leadership, and solution evangelism, ensuring Schneider Electric delivers differentiated value in healthcare environments.

You will act as a trusted advisor to healthcare customers, guiding them through IT/OT convergence, energy and operational efficiency improvements, and the adoption of advanced digital building technologies.

The Healthcare Segment Solution and Technology Lead will be the catalyst and champion of innovation for Healthcare facilities and will be responsible for driving innovation, and influencing and supporting strategic customers in the digitalization of their buildings’ portfolio.

Key Responsibilities And Deliverables

  • Drive Innovation & Collaboration with Line of Business (LoB)

    • Serve as a catalyst for innovation across healthcare solutions by working closely with LoB leaders, R&D, offer managers, and solution owners to shape new offers and solution architectures.
    • Contribute to the development of healthcare‑specific solution roadmaps, use cases, and reference architectures.
    • Advocate for segment needs and ensure healthcare requirements influence future products and platform evolution.
    • Participate in solution catalog development, documentation refinement, and strategic solution governance activities.
  • Customer & Account Leadership

    • Act as a trusted technology partner for healthcare customers, advising on digital transformation, modernization, and resilience strategies.
    • Support strategic pursuits across major healthcare accounts in coordination with Account Managers, Segment Leaders, and Solution Architects.
    • Manage executive‑level relationships and position Schneider Electric as a visionary and value‑oriented partner.
    • Influence specifications and consultant ecosystems to shape demand and steer customer decisions in Schneider Electric’s favor. Insights from healthcare team interactions and consultant influence discussions support this (e.g., Healthcare Solutions Community.

  • Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

    • Lead the definition of end‑to‑end IT/OT architectures for healthcare facilities, including data strategy, integration, system interoperability, and analytics requirements.
    • Shape conceptual and high‑level solution designs using Schneider Electric’s digital platforms, energy technologies, software, and services.
    • Ensure alignment with healthcare‑specific needs such as critical environments, safety, compliance, and cybersecurity.
    • Support complex deals by preparing architectural deliverables, technical value propositions, and solution narratives.
  • Workshop Facilitation & Technical Engagements

    • Facilitate customer workshops covering digital building transformation, energy efficiency, FDD (fault detection diagnostics), IoT, and smart hospital solutions.
    • Translate customer challenges into solution requirements and actionable architectural proposals.
    • Present demos, reference architectures, and case studies to educate customers and internal teams.
    • Bring in best practices from healthcare multi‑system design conversations and Building Advisor use cases mentioned in internal exchanges.
    • Training / upskilling zones and country operations teams through healthcare segment specialisation training
    • Upskilling teams to deliver partner / EcoXpert training
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Ecosystem Enablement

    • Work with regional and global stakeholders—Segment Leaders, Solution Architects, Marketing, LoBs, and Partner Ecosystems—to ensure solutions land successfully in the field.
    • Provide guidance to local teams, acting as an advanced support and coaching resource, particularly in priority growth regions.
    • Strengthen relationships with engineering firms, integrators, and consultants influencing healthcare projects.
  • Thought Leadership & Best Practice Development

    • Create repeatable frameworks, templates, and best practices to scale Healthcare digital solutions globally.
    • Partner with marketing and the segment team to build training materials, reference architectures, and whitepapers showcasing Schneider Electric’s leadership.
    • Contribute content to internal platforms (e.g., Solutions Catalogue, Healthcare Playbooks) and support continuous improvement of documentation processes.
  • Opportunity Support & Deal Acceleration

    • Support the end‑to‑end pursuit lifecycle: opportunity qualification, scoping, solutioning, proposal development, and closing.
    • Help prioritize strategic accounts and segment opportunities based on market signals and portfolio strengths.
    • Leverage deep knowledge of digital hospitals, energy management, microgrids, and hybrid cloud/on‑prem architectures to accelerate the design of winning offers.

Requirements for the role

  • Customer-centric mindset: excellent customer relationship skills. Ability to create relationships quickly across customers’ organizations.
  • 10+ years experience within the Healthcare Segment proofing her/his knowledge in this field
  • Practical experience working in the Healthcare environment, with experience in deploying complex multi-site software solutions with a wide range of integrations
  • Awareness of RESTful standards and web API's and good knowledge of standard building protocols
  • Good understanding of networks and network design
  • Experience in the development and influence of specifications to embed software in project requirements
  • Strong capacity to foster collaboration & networking, and work transversally across the organization
  • Structured way of working; Good attention to detail
  • Confident speaker able to lead technical workshops with customers
  • International, multi-cultural mind-set and approach

  • 10 + years of experience in Healthcare
  • Good knowledge and practical experience in executing or providing design consultancy in building automation and energy management systems, enterprise systems and systems integration
  • Good knowledge of electrical distribution with experience in distributed energy resources and microgrids
  • Excellent networking capabilities and the ability to lead other teams and groups.
  • Market: experience within the Healthcare industry
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree, Masters’ degree in a relevant field, Computer Engineering or Computer Sciences is a plus
  • Languages: Fluency in spoken and written English; Any other language is a plus
  • Other: excellent MS PowerPoint and Excel skills, and presentation writing skills
