About Rokshaw Laboratories
Rokshaw Laboratories is a pharmaceutical manufacturing business based in Sunderland. As the business transitions from an outsourced finance model to an in-house finance capability, we require the services of an experienced accounting professional to establish robust financial processes, reporting and financial controls.
The Engagement
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional operating through their own limited company to provide specialist accounting services.
This engagement is structured as a business-to-business professional services arrangement and is intended to operate outside IR35. The company requires defined accounting outputs and specialist expertise rather than the fulfilment of an employed role.
The contractor will determine the manner, methodology and sequence in which the services are delivered, provided the agreed deliverables and timescales are achieved.
Scope of Professional Services
The contractor shall provide professional accounting services including, but not limited to:
- Production and delivery of monthly management accounts and reporting packs.
- Preparation of profit and loss analysis and financial performance reporting.
- Completion of period-end reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
- Review and oversight of accounts payable and receivable processes and reporting.
- Maintenance of the Sage 200 finance system and support for financial data integrity.
- Cost, margin and profitability analysis to support business decision-making.
- Liaison with external accountants in relation to statutory reporting requirements.
- Identification and recommendation of finance process improvements and internal controls.
- Support for the transition of finance activities from outsourced providers to the internal finance function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
