About the Role


Position Overview

  • Full-time | Long-term | Temporary
  • Location: Inclusive mainstream and specialist SEND schools in Leeds and Wakefield
  • Start date: September 2026

Leader Education is seeking **dedicated 1:1 and small-group support roles to help children with SEMH needs and learning difficulties maximise their school experience. Collaborating with top-rated specialist and mainstream SEND schools across Yorkshire, we’re renaissanceing education for neurodiverse learners—including those with autism (ASC), ADHD, MLD, SEMH challenges, and complex sensory/physical needs.


Key Responsibilities

You’ll spend your working week (Monday–Friday) in a highly fulfilling yet demanding environment:

  • Tailored 1:1 and group support to children facing SEMH challenges, autism, ADHD, or complex learning disabilities
  • Cultivating educational access for pupils who require adapted approaches
  • Balancing emotional regulation and fostering positive classroom behaviour
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external therapists to refine support plans
  • Adapting activities—creatively and methodologically—to meet personalised needs
  • Potential requirement: In some settings, assisting with limited personal care tasks.

Preferred Experience (But Not Essential!)

  • Professional caregiving (e.g. Nursing, Care Workers, Youth Workers)
