Job Opportunity: Behaviour Support Assistant

Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistants to support the learning of pupils with SEMH in one of our inspirational Alternative Provision settings in Morpeth to start ASAP on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About The School

  • Location: Morpeth
  • Age Group: 11-18
  • Student Profile: Pupils with varying levels of SEMH and SEND who have been temporarily excluded from mainstream School

Pay, Hours And Contract

  • Pay: Between £95-110 per day
  • Hours: 08.30-16.00. Full-time
  • Contract: Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2027. Temporary Contract.
  • Start Date: ASAP

About The Role

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Providing one-to-one and small group support to individuals with SEMH needs
    • Helping pupils manage their emotions and behaviour in lessons and around School
    • Developing an understanding of the different needs and learning styles of pupils
    • Working closely alongside Class Teachers and colleagues

Experience/Qualifications And Requirements

  • Qualifications: Supporting Teaching and Learning or Childcare-based Qualification (desired)
  • Experience: Working with Children in Schools in the UK
  • Skills:
    • Ability to build positive relationships and rapport with pupils and staff
    • Resilient, proactive, and positive nature
  • Requirements:
    • Right to Work in the UK
    • Enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or willingness to process a new application
    • Two professional references covering the last two years
