🏫 Who We Are
At Compass Community School, our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds, all sharing Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Many also have additional Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as:

Core Responsibilities:
- Ultimately, you are a teacher first—our students need passionate, intuitive educators who build rapport, motivate, and inspire.
- Teach English and/or Maths to GCSE level—adapting your approach to ensure every child, regardless of their ability, achieves.
- Our schools have high aspirations—we never underestimate what our students can achieve, and qualifications give them critical life chances.
- Design inspiring, relevant lessons that challenge and engage each student, whether they’re acquiring foundational skills or developing expertise in a subject.
- Manage complex behaviour with confidence, understanding that consistency, patience, and a non-judgemental approach are essential.
- Collaborate in decision-making to shape the academic curriculum, extracurricular opportunities, and student outcomes.
- Advocate for every child, ensuring they thrive—not just academically, but holistically.

📋 Person Specification: Must-Have Criteria
✓ UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – Mandatory. ✓ Experienced SEN teacher with at least 2 years of relevant experience. ✓ Expert subject knowledge with a deep understanding of SEN best practice. ✓ Proven ability to deliver high-quality lessons that meet diverse learning needs. ✓ Passionate, collaborative team player with a positive attitude. ✓ Confident, strong classroom management skills – able to handle challenging behaviours effectively.
