SEMH Teaching Assistant September Opportunities - Bristol £100 - £127per day About the Role Connex Education are seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within specialist educational settings, overing both priamry and secondary Phases. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve positive outcomes both academically and personally.s The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to provide tailored support for pupils who may display challenging behaviour, anxiety, emotional regulation difficulties, or additional learning needs. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs.
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and progress.
Support the delivery of personalised learning and behaviour strategies.
Assist students in developing emotional regulation, social skills, and confidence.

Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, parents/carers, and external professionals.
Support behaviour management in line with school policies.
Monitor and record student progress and wellbeing.
Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs is desirable.
Calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Ability to remain resilient and professional in challenging situations.
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, psychology, or youth work are advantageous but not essential.
