SEMH Teaching Assistant Position in Mitcham, Merton
We are working with a structured secondary school in Mitcham, Merton looking for a SEMH Teaching Assistant who can handle challenges without escalating situations. The school needs someone who can stay calm when pupils test boundaries.
This is a permanent position starting in September 2026. You will be supporting pupils who need clear boundaries, calm adults, and consistent routines. The school is looking for someone who can build trust, manage behavior professionally, and work alongside experienced staff.

What the Role Involves
- Supporting pupils with SEMH, behavior needs, and additional learning needs
- Helping pupils stay regulated and engaged in learning
- Working with teachers, pastoral staff, and behavior leads
- Long-term, consistent work rather than random day-to-day cover
