SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: BS23 Position: Full-Time Start Date: ASAP
Long-Term Teachers is currently partnering with a Primary School in the BS23 area of Weston-Super-Mare. They are seeking experienced Teaching Assistants who are confident working with pupils with Special Educational Needs, specifically SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
This Primary School has a high level of SEMH needs across the school. To support these pupils, the Head Teacher is looking for a new Teaching Assistant to join their team to provide 1 to 1 support.
The school is dedicated to providing children with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, fostering an environment that prepares pupils for the next stage of their education.
The Role
This role requires Teaching Assistants with significant experience working with SEMH and ASD needs. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with children in the classroom, ensuring their safety while encouraging engagement and development in their learning.

Key Responsibilities:
- Employ strong, positive behaviour management strategies.
- Collaborate effectively with the Class Teacher.
- Provide calm and nurturing support.
- Be flexible and encouraging when working with the assigned pupil.
- Demonstrate adaptability with the child’s learning environment.
- Communicate and observe personal and learning development.

Salary: £105 - £120 GBP Per day
