About The Role
Semi-Qualified Welder – Site Based (Bottesford)

We are looking for a Semi-Qualified Welder to join our team at Bottesford. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with welding experience who is looking to further develop their skills while working on a range of piling equipment and machinery. You'll work alongside experienced welders and maintenance professionals, helping to keep our equipment operating safely and efficiently.
What you'll be doing
As a Semi-Qualified Welder, you'll support the maintenance team by:
- Assisting with repairs and maintenance of piling rigs and equipment
- Carrying out welding tasks under guidance and supervision where required
- Helping to identify damage, wear and defects on plant and equipment
- Applying hard facing and wear parts to improve equipment lifespan
- Using plasma cutting and oxy/propane equipment to remove damaged sections
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Completing inspection and maintenance records accurately
- Reporting hazards, near misses and safety observations
- Working closely with the welding and maintenance teams to minimise downtime
- Participating in daily briefings and team communications
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
Who we're looking for
- Some welding experience, ideally with MIG and/or MMA welding
- A welding qualification (or currently working towards one)
- Experience working with steel fabrications or heavy plant equipment is desirable
- Basic understanding of fabrication drawings
- Experience using hand tools, abrasive wheels, and cutting equipment is advantageous
- A willingness to learn and develop welding and fabrication skills
- Good awareness of health and safety practices
- Reliable, proactive and able to work well as part of a team
- Basic IT skills
