An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Semi Senior Accountant to join a well established and growing accountancy practice in Bexhill.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious practice professional looking to further develop their career within a supportive and collaborative environment. You'll work with a varied portfolio of sole traders and limited companies, gaining exposure to accounts preparation, tax compliance, bookkeeping and client management while continuing to build your technical expertise.
The practice offers genuine opportunities for progression, alongside hybrid working following the successful completion of probation.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Tax
- Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders and limited companies.
- Prepare personal and business tax returns.
- Complete bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records for a varied client portfolio.
- Assist with financial reporting and management accounts where required.
- Ensure work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
Client Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Respond to client queries and provide professional day to day support.
- Liaise directly with clients to obtain information and resolve accounting queries.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure confidentiality is upheld at all times.

Practice Support
- Assist with the day to day administration of client work and appointments.
- Support invoicing, expense tracking and general financial administration.
- Collect, organise and analyse financial information for reporting purposes.
- Work closely with colleagues and external providers to ensure the efficient delivery of client services.
Requirements
- AAT qualified, ACA or ACCA part qualified, or qualified by experience.
- A minimum of three years' recent experience within an accountancy practice.
- Experience preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders and limited companies.
- Strong bookkeeping experience.
- Good working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks.
- Experience using IRIS would be advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Professional approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
