An expanding accountancy practice is recruiting for a Semi Senior Accountant to join their entrepreneurial team in providing exemplary compliance and advisory services to a varied client portfolio. The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or part qualified ACA or ACCA, with a minimum of two years’ experience gained within a UK accountancy firm.
The Semi Senior Accountant will receive a competitive salary, depending upon experience, study support, career progression, pension, professional development, free on-site parking, exposure to a variety of clients and industries.
Responsibilities
- Statutory accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Management accounts and financial reports
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns for a portfolio of clients
- Assisting clients with bookkeeping and accounting queries
- Liaising directly with clients to provide excellent service and build strong relationships
- Supporting senior members of the team with year-end accounts and advisory work
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
- Keeping up to date with accounting standards and tax legislation

Requirements
- Ideally be AAT qualified or studying towards ACCA or ACA
- A minimum of two years’ recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice
- Experience preparing both statutory and management accounts
- Experience preparing VAT returns
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage would be an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail
- A proactive, positive attitude with a desire to learn and develop
- Able to manage your workload effectively and build strong client relationships
