The Role
We are currently recruiting for a Semi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support the Peterborough City Hospital—a landmark project and the City’s most significant building since the cathedral was constructed in 1238.

Responsibilities
Your primary role will be to support the maintenance of a broad range of building services and systems, including:
- Electrical systems
- Mechanical services
- Non-domestic fabric
- Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Nurse call systems
- Fire alarms
- Boilers and pressure systems
- Water-based systems
- Specialist systems
Key Duties:
- Assist with planned and reactive maintenance
- Help with fault diagnosis and problem-solving
- Contribute to the safe and continuous operation of hospital systems
- Work flexibly across engineering disciplines in collaboration with a multi-skilled team
- Liaise with hospital staff and other departments as required
- Adhere to management systems and work order processes to support contractual KPIs
- Assist with permit-to-work systems
- Maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance
Working Environment
You’ll support the smooth running of a complex and critical healthcare environment, where proactive and flexible contributions are essential.
Requirements
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Experience or exposure to electrical, mechanical, or fabric services
- Basic fault-finding capability and a proactive, problem-solving attitude
- A cautious and methodical approach to maintenance tasks
