Area Sales Manager – South UK

Non Negotiables for applicants:

Candidates must have experience within the semiconductor/electronic components distribution market and a proven track record of selling or supporting similar technologies. Typical product experience includes:

  • Circuit Protection (TVS Diodes, ESD Protection, Fuses, Varistors/MOVs, GDTs)
  • Discrete Semiconductors (Diodes, IGBTs, SiC Devices)
  • Passive Components (Resistors, Inductors, Transformers, Magnetics)
  • Power Electronics & Power Management Components
  • Electromechanical Components and Sensors

Applicants from semiconductor manufacturers or authorised distributors with experience across these product areas are particularly encouraged to apply.

The role

An established global manufacturer of electronic components is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to drive growth across the South UK region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially focused sales professional with experience in the electronics industry to develop strategic customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, and grow market share within a defined territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Deliver technical product presentations and support customers with product selection and application discussions.
  • Manage and grow a sales pipeline to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Work closely with internal technical and commercial teams to ensure excellent customer support and satisfaction.
  • Develop territory plans and execute strategic sales initiatives.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts, market intelligence, and activity reporting through CRM systems.
  • Collaborate with channel partners and distribution networks to maximise market coverage.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in sales, account management, or business development within the electronics industry.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Technical understanding of electronic components and related technologies.
  • Experience working with OEMs, EMS providers, distributors, or design engineering teams would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a remote environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a track record of achieving sales objectives.
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively throughout the South UK region.

Qualifications

  • Ideally but not essential is a Degree in Engineering, Electronics, Business, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Previous experience in Semiconductors, passive component sales, or electronic component distribution/manufacturing is essential.
