About The Setting
Based at a dedicated learning hub in Nottingham, this alternative provision caters to small groups of 3 - 6 learners, as well as providing tailored 1:1 teaching to support transitions. The environment is structured to offer high levels of engagement, participation, and belonging. Teachers benefit from excellent support, including dedicated Teaching Assistants who assist with targeted interventions and group work, allowing you to focus on high-quality, creative delivery in a calm and purposeful space.

The Approach / Pedagogy
The setting operates on a foundation of relational and restorative practices. Rather than relying on rigid, punitive measures, the team uses positive behaviour support and adaptive teaching strategies to manage engagement, build trust, and improve attendance. Holistic wellbeing is prioritised alongside academic progress to ensure every pupil feels secure and supported.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, innovative, and creative teaching across a broad curriculum, with a focus on core subjects like KS3/KS4 Maths and Functional Skills.
- Utilise adaptive teaching methods to ensure all pupils can access learning and achieve academic, personal, and wellbeing targets.
- Conduct robust baseline assessments and maintain live data tracking to implement timely interventions.
- Use Pupil Profiles to set realistic, challenging, and subject-specific targets tailored to individual needs.
- Provide constant, active supervision to guarantee physical and emotional safety throughout the day.
- Collaborate closely with specialist staff, families, and external agencies to plan for pupils next steps and eventual reintegration into mainstream settings or college.
- Work as part of a collaborative team, supporting colleagues and modelling exceptional safeguarding and welfare practices.

What We Are Looking For
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification is essential.
Experience: Experience delivering a differentiated curriculum within a special school or alternative provision environment (particularly with autism/SEMH) is highly desirable but not essential.
Characteristics: A reflective, resilient practitioner who is confident using relational/restorative behaviour strategies and is committed to continuous professional development.
Transport/Commute: A full UK driving licence is required due to the nature of the role, and candidates must be fully fit to meet the physical demands of active supervision.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check, provide a complete employment history accounting for any CV gaps, and demonstrate the right to work in the UK.
