SEN Class Teacher – Andover, Hampshire
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Salary: £28,000 – £39,520 per annum
Contract: Full Time | Term Time Only
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are delighted to be recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join our new school in Andover, Hampshire.
Our school will provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for up to 60 pupils aged 5–18 with a range of complex needs, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. We believe every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential, and we are committed to delivering personalised education that supports both academic success and emotional wellbeing.

The Role
As an SEN Class Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils while creating a positive and supportive learning environment.
Working closely with colleagues and wider professionals, you’ll help pupils develop confidence, resilience, and a love of learning while supporting their social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum, adapting them to meet individual pupil needs
- Support pupils with SEMH and other additional needs to achieve positive educational outcomes
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Collaborate with teaching assistants and the wider school team to support learning and positive behaviour
- Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, identifying additional support required
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
- Supervise pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular activities
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and personal development across the school day
You
We’re looking for a passionate and committed teacher who is dedicated to helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Degree-level education
- Previous successful teaching experience
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH within an educational setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- A commitment to continuous professional development
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check prior to employment
