About the Role
Five Education is seeking an experienced Teacher to deliver tailored support to a small class of secondary-age children diagnosed with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Many pupils may also have additional needs in communication and social engagement.
Located in Templecombe, the school is equipped with on-site parking and is accessible via public transport.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach and differentiate lessons for children with ASD, adapting resources where needed to create an engaging, individualised learning experience
- Deploy autism-friendly teaching methods and develop your pedagogical approach through ongoing training and mentorship
- Foster motivation, confidence, and academic achievement in young people with safeguarding ethos at the forefront
- Collaborate with a supportive team to create inclusive, outcomes-driven learning environments
- Maintain a child-centred focus, respecting each student’s strengths while addressing challenges sensitively

Essential Requirements
- Proven classroom teaching experience (primary/secondary/FE or specialist support settings)
- Right to work in the UK (sponsorship/NI visas are not available)
- Two recent references (last 2 years)
- Up-to-date DBS clearance – must be registered on the Update Service (must provide proof of refusal, or be willing to apply for one under advice).
- Note: If you need a new Enhanced DBS, Five Education will arrange this at £62.70. The cost will be refunded after 20 days of employment.
