SEN Learning Support Assistant - Andover
Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and compassionate SEN Learning Support Assistant to support pupils in the Andover area. This role involves working with children and young people who have a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised support that enables pupils to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve positive outcomes. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or through small-group interventions, depending on individual needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and helping them reach their full potential.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 support and small-group assistance to pupils with SEN
- Support pupils during lessons, activities, and transitions throughout the school day
- Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support strategies
- Help adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs
- Encourage pupil confidence, independence, and engagement
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
- Contribute to a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

Ideal Candidate:
- Experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals
- Patient, supportive, and understanding approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to build positive and trusting relationships
- Adaptable and able to respond to varying needs and situations
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Backgrounds in SEN, care, youth work, support work, or education welcomed

- Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
- Location: Andover
- Start Date: ASAP
- Working Pattern: Full-time, term-time
- Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
- Key Stages: Primary / Secondary
Experience, Training & Safeguarding:
- SEN or relevant support experience desirable
- Safeguarding training can be provided
- Knowledge of SEN strategies beneficial but not essential
