SEN Learning Support Assistant

Job Description

Springfield Infant School and Nursery

Address: Ipswich, Suffolk IP1 4PP

Salary: £24,796 per annum pro rata

Hours: 27.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year

Contract: Fixed Term until 30 August 2027, required to start September 2026

Springfield Infant School and Nursery are seeking to appoint an effective and caring SEN Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly, hardworking and skilled team. You will be working under the guidance of our SENDCo and teaching staff to enhance the learning and personal development of SEN children in our school. You will be working with a small group of children to ensure they have access to the best possible education.

We are ideally looking for an experienced and passionate individual, someone who has a positive impact on pupil’s learning by working with individuals and small groups. You will also need to have a willingness to assist whole class teaching and learning, when necessary, as a general teaching assistant and be flexible according to the needs of the individuals within the school. You will need good communication and written skills, and be able to communicate effectively with the children, the SENDCo, staff and parents.
