- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Mon–Fri)
- Salary: Up to £42,500 per annum (experience-dependent)
- Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
- Start Date: September 2024
About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, creative, and dynamic SEN Maths Teacher to transform lives by delivering individualised, engaging instruction for students with autism, learning difficulties, and complex needs.
This role is unlike conventional teaching—it demands innovative thinking, adaptability, and a commitment to fostering progress through diverse, tailored approaches. Our support ensures every pupil succeeds.
Key Focus:
- Specialism in Maths teaching for SEMH and SEN pupils
- Collaborative teaching within a nurturing, inclusive setting
- Use of a wide range of specialist resources to inspire learning
Core Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Deliver high-quality Maths instruction, ensuring significant progress for all pupils
- Design and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons tailored to individual needs
- Implement targeted assessments to inform ongoing teaching strategies
- Lead and contribute to the development of the Maths curriculum, ensuring effective implementation
Pastoral Support & Collaboration
- Foster pupils’ personal development, wellbeing, and engagement in learning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to sustain a cohesive curriculum
- Support cross-subject teaching, including off-site provision as required
- Maximise the use of resources and interventions to enhance educational outcomes

Job Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or a degree in Mathematics
- Experience (or enthusiasm for) teaching students with:
- Autism/Spectrum Disorders
- Learning difficulties
- Complex needs
- Demonstrable ability to adapt lessons for diverse learning needs
Skills & Mindset
- Confident, proactive communicator able to work in a collaborative team
- Commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and debilitating emotional environment
- Adapts flexibly, reflects on practice, and seeks continuous improvement
Additional Requirements
- Full, valid UK driving licence (essential for flexibility and off-site provision)

Miller House School: SupportingSEMH Young People
A brand-new specialist SEMH school opening in September 2025, located in Stoneygate, Leicester.
- Provision: Co-educational for 11–16 year olds with complex needs, including:
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges
- Autism
- ADHD
