SEN Primary Teacher – Kestrel House School, London

Location: Kestrel House School, Crouch End, London N8 9EA Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8:15am – 4:15pm Salary: Up to £51,000.00 per annum (dependent on experience, not pro rata) Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only Start Date: September 2026 UK applicants only – no sponsorship available

We are seeking an exceptional SEN Primary Teacher to join our dedicated team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality teaching, learning, and inclusion—tailored specifically to our pupils, many of whom have complex needs, such as:

  • Autism
  • Communication differences
  • Social, emotional, or developmental challenges

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching across a range of subjects, ensuring continuity, progression, and meaningful learning for all pupils.
  • Champion inclusive practice and contribute to the development of our SEN provision, collaborating with:
    • Families
    • External agencies
    • Our in-house therapy team
  • Model effective teaching strategies and work closely with teachers and teaching assistants to support pupils with diverse needs.
  • Create a stimulating, safe, and well-organised learning environment that:
    • Promotes independence
    • Supports communication skills
    • Develops key life skills
  • Use assessment, data, and evidence to:
    • Set ambitious yet achievable targets
    • Monitor progress
    • Drive continuous improvement
  • Contribute to:
    • Whole-school planning
    • Curriculum development
    • Behavioural approaches aligned with our ethos and priorities
  • Build strong, positive relationships with:
    • Parents/carers
    • The wider community
    • Ensure everyone remains an active partner in each child’s journey

Must-Have Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent meet minimum DfE requirements
  • A strong understanding of primary-aged learners and how to help them flourish
  • A genuine commitment to:
    • Neuro-affirming practice
    • Trauma-informed teaching
    • Child-centred approaches
  • Knowledge of:
    • Statutory curriculum requirements
    • Assessment strategies
    • High-quality teaching methods
  • The ability to adapt teaching to support a wide range of:
