Salaried (£32,597–£35,412 full-time equivalent, or £16,907.49+ pro rata) | Garforth Academy, Delta Academies Trust
About the Role
Garforth Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and compassionate SEN Support Officer (SENSO) to join our outstanding multi-academy trust from September 2026 on a permanent, part-time basis (working Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays).
As a longstanding outstanding academy (with an Outstanding Ofsted grade in 2024), we are passionately committed to transforming educational outcomes for students in some of the most deprived areas of the North of England. If you believe in empowering students through tailored support, and you thrive in a dynamic, results-driven environment, this role could be perfect for you.

- Monitor and report on special educational needs (SEN) provision across the academy to help close attainment gaps.
-
Manage Teaching Assistant Deployment & Performance:

- Delegate and supervise Intervention Coordinator duties to maintain consistent support for secondary-aged students with SEND.
- Deliver and evaluate bespoke intervention packages to remove barriers to learning.
-

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
