SEN Support Officer
Salary Grade: G (Points 20 to 24) – £32,597 to £35,412 FTE / minimum £28,413.44 pro rata per annum.
De Lacy Academy is seeking to appoint a permanent, full-time SEN Support Officer (SENSO) to join the team in September 2026.
About the Role
Do you want to work at an academy transformating educational outcomes for students in some of the most deprived areas of the North of England?
We’re looking for someone passionate about supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide administrative support to the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) in tracking and managing interventions.
- Oversee the daily deployment and evaluation of Teaching Assistants (TAs), ensuring efficient and effective support for students.
- Develop and deliver bespoke intervention packages tailored to secondary-aged pupils with SEND.
- Partner with teachers, support staff, and parents to align support with pupil needs.
- Monitor progress and identify key barriers to learning, recommending targetted support plans.
- Assist in maintaining accurate SEND records and reports for the academy.
- Support the implementation of inclusive teaching strategies across the school.
