SEN Teaching Assistant - Tottenham, Haringey

September 2026

SEN Teaching Assistant - What the Role Involves

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 and small-group support to sixth form students with a range of SEN needs throughout the college day
  • Implementing strategies outlined in students' Education, Health and Care Plans under SENDCO guidance
  • Supporting students to access A-Level and vocational curriculum content confidently and independently
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and wellbeing, feeding back to tutors and the SENDCO regularly
  • Building consistent, respectful, and trusted relationships with students and their families throughout the academic year

SEN Teaching Assistant - What the School is Looking For

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant will hold a 2:1 or 1st Class degree from a top 30 UK university. Previous experience supporting young people with SEN in a UK school, college, or educational setting is highly valued. The school is seeking a patient, empathetic, and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant with strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to supporting post-16 learners with additional needs to achieve their goals.

  • £444 per week, pro rata to term time only
