Dunstable | Permanent Full-Time Role | September Start | Education and Training
£30,000 - £46,000 DOE
Are you an SEN Teacher in or around Dunstable who is passionate about supporting young people who need a different approach to education and training?
A specialist SEN school in Dunstable is looking for a compassionate and adaptable SEN Teacher to join their team this September. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly supportive setting that focuses on emotional wellbeing, personalised learning, and helping pupils achieve meaningful progress both academically and personally.
The school supports children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, alongside additional complex learning difficulties including PMLD and SLD. Small class sizes and strong therapeutic support allow staff to build positive relationships and create an environment where pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn in the education and training sector.

As part of the teaching team, you will:
- Deliver engaging and individualised lessons tailored to pupils' needs
- Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and social development
- Adapt teaching strategies for pupils with a range of learning and sensory needs
- Use approaches such as PECS, Makaton, AAC, and other communication tools where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with therapists, SEN professionals, and pastoral staff
- Contribute to EHCP targets and personalised learning plans
- Promote a calm, structured, and nurturing classroom environment
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive engagement in education
The SEN Teacher We're Looking For:
- QTS, QTLS, or strong experience within SEN/SEMH settings
- Experience supporting pupils with additional complex needs
- A patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for inclusive education
- The ability to commute to Dunstable
