About the Role

Five Education is collaborating with a specialist SEN provision in Bristol to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher for a KS3 class catering to pupils with P UEFIM PEARDS and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

This is an opportunity to create meaningful, personalised learning experiences in a supportive, well-resourced environment. The role focuses on individualised education, communication, and holistic development.


Responsibilities

As the class teacher, your core duties include:

  • Planning and delivering adapted, individualised lessons tailored to pupils with PMLD
  • Leading the classroom in collaboration with teaching assistants and support staff
  • Managing EHCP targets, progress tracking, and communication plans
  • Supporting pupils’ sensory, physical, and communication needs
  • Creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Completing marking, assessments, and planning in line with a paid-to-scale role
  • Working closely with therapists, SENCOs, and families

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience (or strong interest) in working with SEN pupils, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting
  • A deep understanding of children with PMLD (or willingness to develop this knowledge)
  • Ability to deliver creative, flexible, and differentiated teaching approaches
  • Strong teamwork and classroom leadership skills

Applicants without formal SEN specialism will be considered if they demonstrate relevant SEN experience and a passion for inclusive education.

Essential Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
  • Two recent references (under two years old)
  • Current DBS Check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one*) Note: Five Education may assist with a new check (£62.70) if needed, which is refundable after 20 days of employment.
