THE SEN TEACHER JOB and SCHOOL
Based in North West London, this is a highly successful and popular special school for pupils aged 11:16 years with profound and multiple learning difficulties. Their recent inspection by Ofsted revealed the school to be Outstanding. They are seeking to appoint an outstanding SEN Teacher who offers a creative and engaging teaching presence in the classroom whilst presenting a multi:sensory curriculum to pupils with significant cognitive development issues.
The school is an exceptional place to work where staff development opportunities and training is plentiful and where staff turnover is low. They frequently promote from within and have a really effective pathway for developing both exceptional SEN teachers but also for developing middle and senior leaders. They are at the forefront of SEND research and play a pivotal role in shaping government policy and SEND curriculum and strategies nationally due to their reputation and results. Despite these lofty standards the school provides an environment that is both uplifting and rewarding for students and staff alike. I have worked with this school for the best part of a decade and can honestly say there is no better place to develop your career in SEND teaching.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
