Long:Term Opportunities

  • If you prefer stability, we have fixed:term roles spanning a term or a full academic year. This is the perfect way to truly embed yourself within a local specialist team, lead a dedicated class group, design individualised sensory learning pathways, and see your pupils make meaningful developmental progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tailored Lesson Delivery: Plan, adapt, and deliver highly engaging, sensory:friendly lessons that cater to a wide range of cognitive, emotional, and physical abilities.
  • EHCP Implementation: Work closely alongside individual Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) to ensure every student's academic, social, and emotional targets are met.
  • Classroom Collaboration: Lead, guide, and collaborate effectively with a dedicated team of SEN Teaching Assistants within your classroom to maintain a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Positive Behaviour Support: Utilise trauma:informed practices, positive de:escalation strategies, and alternative communication tools (e.g., visual timetables, PECS, Makaton) to encourage active pupil engagement.

What We Look For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or a recognised equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching or supporting children with special educational needs (highly advantageous, though mainstream teachers with a strong interest in SEN are encouraged ).
  • A patient, warm, and highly resilient approach to classroom and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build quick, authentic rapport with vulnerable young learners.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one immediately).
