If so, Horizon Care and Education is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Tipton Green College.

  • Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve:

  • Assisting students in their educational and social development
    • Supporting in and out of the classroom
    • Maximising engagement in a wide range of activities
  • Planning and adapting activities to meet individual needs
    • Utilising technology or modifying environments where necessary
  • Supporting teachers with:
    • Establishing positive learning environments
    • Engaging students and reinforcing classroom routines
    • Implementing behavioural management strategies
  • Providing 1:1 support to ensure students receive targeted assistance

What We’re Looking For

To succeed in this role, you must:

  • Have experience working with children who have behavioural support needs, including strong knowledge of behavioural management techniques
  • Hold/be eligible for Grade C/Level 4 or above in:
    • GCSE English and Maths
    • OR Level 1/2 equivalent Functional Skills qualifications
  • Hold or be committed to obtaining a recognised teaching assistant qualification
